About Me

Welcome to my website! I am a speech language pathologist who has been working with children for almost 30 years. I have provided speech therapy to kids that had various speech and language delays, including nonverbal children. Some of those children were autistic. I have always loved to read and write and recently decided to combine my professional knowledge with my joy of writing to create educational and inspirational books for children. My Hootsie Family book series were written to introduce young children to various vocabulary words and give them an opportunity to build communication, comprehension, and other language skills. Each book includes speech therapy worksheets and interactive activities at the end of the story which were designed to be accessible to a variety of communicators, including children who are nonverbal and benefit from visual supports. The rest of my book series are also educational and some of them include activities to do at the end of the book that relate to the story.
